Description

Series Overview Google has developed a number of tools that can be used on a variety of devices (desktop computers, laptops, Chromebooks, tablets and smartphones) for free. The skills developed in using these tools are transferable to Microsoft office and most other computer/smartphone based activities. But many teachers and students are unaware of the wide variety of Google apps and many of the functions these apps afford. In this series we will explore Google Drive and five of the google apps that have promising uses in education: Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Forms, and Google Keep.

Sessions include:

  • Session 1: Google Drive and Google Docs 1/17/18
  • Session 2: Google Sheets and Google Slides 2/14/18
  • Session 3: Google Forms and Google Keep 4/11/18

This beginning level series is designed for instructors who do not have much familiarity with Google Drive.

Session 3 Google Forms and Google Keep In this session, we will briefly review Google Drive and then go in depth in how to create, share, and edit Google Forms and Google Keep. Google Forms is an app that allows the creation of forms, quizzes and surveys. It connects to Google Sheets. Google Keep is note taking app which allows for the insertion of images and checkboxes and collaborative documents. We will discuss how Google Forms and Google Keep can be used both for general productivity and as tools for instruction. All participants will log into their own Google Drive, make a folder for the sessions activities and make their own Google Forms quiz and use Google Keep to create a to do list.
